Abstract:Objective:To analyze and logistic regression analysis of infection and risk factors after prostate biopsy.Method:A total of 234 patients with transrectal prostate biopsy admitted to People's Hospital of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture from November 2019 to November 2023 were selected as the study objects. The patients were divided into using routine antibiotic prophylaxis group(n=123)and no routine prophylaxis group(n=111)according to whether they used prophylactic antibiotics. The incidence of infection in the two groups 2 weeks after surgery was analyzed by logistic regression. The risk factors of infection after prostate biopsy were analyzed.Result:The infection rate in the group using prophylactic antibiotics was significantly lower than that in the group without prophylactic antibiotics, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were significant differences in body mass index(BMI),diabetes mellitus, catheter indentation before surgery, puncture inflammation and tumor bone metastasis between the two groups(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that diabetes mellitus, catheter indentation before surgery, and tumor bone metastasis were the risk factors for infection after transrectal prostate biopsy, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Preoperative prophylactic use of antibiotics can reduce the risk of infection after transrectal prostate biopsy to a certain extent.Diabetes mellitus, catheter indwelling before surgery, and tumor bone metastasis are risk factors for infection after transrectal prostate biopsy.
