Effect of Chinese Medicine Patch Combined with Conventional Western Medicine in the Treatment of Allergic Cough in Children

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of Chinese medicine patch combined with conventional western medicine in the treatment of allergic cough in children.Method:A total of 200 pediatric patients with allergic cough treated in Nantong Hospital of Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to June 2023 were selected and randomly divided into two groups with 100 cases in each group.The control group was given conventional western medicine treatment,and the treatment group was treated with Chinese medicine patch on the basis of the control group and according to the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation,once a day,30 minutes each time,and consecutive 7 d as a course of treatment,a total of 2 courses of treatment.The clinical efficacy,traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score,immune function index,lung function index and quality of life score of the two groups were compared.Result:The total effective rate of the treatment group was 92.00%,which was significantly higher than that of the control group 72.00%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms of the two groups were lower than before treatment,and the scores of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,serum immunoglobulin E(IgE)and interleukin-4(IL-4)levels of the two groups were decreased than those before treatment,and the levels of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group,while the serum interleukin-10(IL-10)and interferon-γ(INF-γ)were increased compared with those before treatment,and the levels of the treatment group were higher than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),and peak expiratory flow(PEF)increased than those before treatment,and the levels in the treatment group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the quality of life score of the two groups were higher than those before treatment,and the treatment group was higher than that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Chinese medicine patch combined with conventional western medicine treatment in children allergic cough has a good clinical effect,can improve the symptoms of Chinese medicine,regulate immune function,improve lung function and quality of life.
