Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of Tenghuang Jiangu Pills combined with Alfacalcidol in the treatment of elderly patients with osteoporosis. Method:A total of 68 elderly patients with osteoporosis who admitted to Ningbo Beilun Changzheng Orthopedic Hospital from May 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects, the patients were randomly divided into routine group and combined group, with 34 cases in each group. The routine group was treated with Alfacalcidol, while the combined group was combined with Tenghuang Jiangu Pills on the basis of the routine group, two groups were treated for 3 months. The bone metabolism indexes, bone mineral density, inflammatory factors and pain degree were compared between two groups before and after treatment. Result:After treatment, the levels of bone gla protein (BGP),bone specific alkaline phosphatase (BALP) and bone mineral density of lumbar spine, left femoral neck and right femoral neck in two groups were higher than those before treatment, and those in the combined group were higher, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05);after treatment, the levels of C-reactive protein (CRP),interleukin-6 (IL-6) and visual analogue scale (VAS) scores in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the combined group were lower, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:Tenghuang Jiangu Pills combined with Alfacalcidol in the treatment of elderly patients with osteoporosis can significantly improve the bone metabolism,it is conducive to improving bone mineral density, and reducing the inflammatory factors and pain degree.
