Effect of Modified Shegan Mahuang Decoction Combined with Conventional Western Medicine in the Treatment of Patients with Cold Asthma Syndrome in Acute Exacerbation of Asthma

Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of Modified Shegan Mahuang Decoction combined with conventional western medicine in the treatment of patients with cold asthma syndrome in acute exacerbation of asthma.Method:A total of 116 patients with cold asthma syndrome in acute exacerbation of asthma who admitted to Zhangpu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2021 to September 2023 were selected as the research objects,the patients were divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method,with 58 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,and the observation group was treated with Modified Shegan Mahuang Decoction on the basis of the control group,two groups were treated for 7 d.The clinical efficacy,fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO),pulmonary function,peripheral blood eosinophil count (EOS),serum immunoglobulin E (IgE),traditional Chinese medicine symptom score and adverse reactions were compared between two groups.Result:The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of FeNO,EOS,IgE and traditional Chinese medicine symptoms in two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1)/forced vital capacity (FVC) (FEV1/FVC％) and FEV1 were higher than those before treatment,the FeNO,EOS,IgE and traditional Chinese medicine symptoms scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and FEV1/FVC％ and FEV1 were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There were no obvious adverse reactions in two groups.Conclusion:Compared with conventional treatment alone,modified Shegan Mahuang decoction is more effective in the treatment of patients with cold asthma syndrome in acute exacerbation of asthma,which is more conducive to improving lung function,relieving clinical symptoms,reducing the levels of FeNO,EOS and IgE,and has good safety.
