Effect of Shugan Jieyu Capsules Combined with Venlafaxine Sustained Release Capsules on Middle-aged Patients with Depression

Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of combining Shugan Jieyu Capsule with Venlafaxine Sustained-release Capsule in the treatment of middle-aged depression patients. Method:A total of 154 middle-aged depression patients admitted to Ninghua County General Hospital from March 2021 to January 2024 were selected as the study objects,and were divided into control group and study group according to random number table method,with 77 patients in each group. The control group was treated with Venlafaxine Sustained-Release Capsule,and the study group was treated with Shugan Jieyu Capsule on the basis of the control group. The symptoms of depression and anxiety,sleep quality,quality of life,treatment effect and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Result:The effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment,the Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). After treatment,the score of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) in the research group was lower than that in the control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). After treatment,the score of Short Form 36 Questionnaire (SF-36) of study group was higher than that of control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:The combined use of Shugan Jieyu Capsule and Venlafaxine Sustained-Release Capsule in the treatment of middle-aged depression patients has significant effect and high safety,which can improve the symptoms of depression and anxiety,sleep quality and quality of life.
