The Impact of Pediatric Chiqiao Clearing Granules Combined with Oseltamivir Phosphate on Symptom Relief Time and Inflammatory Factor Levels in Children with Influenza A

Abstract：Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of combined treatment with Pediatric Chiqiao Clearing Granules and oseltamivir phosphate in shortening the symptom relief time for children with influenza A,so as to provide a more scientific medication basis for clinical treatment of children with influenza A. Method:A total of 88 children with influenza A admitted to Funing County People's Hospital from July 2021 to July 2023 were selected as the study objects. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using the envelope drawing method,with 44 cases in each group. The control group was treated with oseltamivir phosphate,while the observation group was treated with Pediatric Chiqiao Clearing Granules and oseltamivir phosphate. The symptom relief times (runny nose,cough,fever,pharyngeal congestion,tonsil enlargement,viral conversion) and levels of inflammatory factors before and after treatment[C-reactive protein (CRP),tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) levels,neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR),interferon-gamma (IFN-γ),serum amyloid A (SAA)]and symptom scores were compared between the two groups. Result:The symptoms of runny nose,cough,fever,pharyngeal congestion,swollen tonsils and virus turning negative in the observation group were relieved in a shorter time than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of CRP,TNF-α,NLR,IFN-γ,SAA and other inflammatory factors and symptom scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion:Treating children with influenza A with Pediatric Chiqiao Clearing Granules combined with oseltamivir phosphate can effectively shorten their symptom relief time and reduce the level of inflammatory factors and improve the score of symptoms,which provides an important scientific basis for the clinical treatment of influenza A.
