Effect of Polyvinyl Alcohol or Sodium Hyaluronate Combined with Cyclosporine in Dry Eye after Cataract Surgery

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of Polyvinyl Alcohol or Sodium Hyaluronate combined with Cyclosporine in dry eye after cataract surgery.Method:A total of 120 patients with dry eye after cataract surgery who admitted to Affiliated Hospital of Shandong Second Medical University from January 2022 to January 2024 were selected as observation objects,the patients were divided into group A(58 cases,Polyvinyl Alcohol combined with Cyclosporine)and group B(62 cases,Sodium Hyaluronate combined with Cyclosporine)by random number table method.The therapeutic effect,corneal surface damage and inflammation,tear film stability,tear secretion test and corneal endothelial cell status were compared between two groups.Result:The total remission rate of group B was 95.16%,which was higher than 82.76%of group A,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05);after medication,the corneal fluorescence staining scores of two groups were lower than those before treatment,and that of group A was lower than that of group B,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05);the tear film rupture time of group B at 7 d and 1 month after operation was longer than that of group A,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05);after medication,the results of tear secretion test in two groups were higher than those before treatment,but the result in group A was lower than that in group B,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05);after medication,the coefficient of variation of endothelial cell area(CV),average cell area and endothelial cell density(ECD)in two groups were better than those before treatment,and those in the group A were better than the group B,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Both Polyvinyl Alcohol or Sodium Hyaluronate combined with Cyclosporine can treat dry eye after cataract surgery,the wetting effect of Sodium Hyaluronate combined with Cyclosporine is more significant,and the anti-inflammatory effect of Polyvinyl Alcohol combined with Cyclosporine is more significant.
