Abstract:Objective:To explore the impact of nursing intervention based on information, knowledge, attitude and practice(IKAP)theory on nursing effect, negative emotion and quality of life of patients after meningioma resection.Method:A total of 108 patients who underwent meningioma resection in Suzhou Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from June 2018 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects, the patients were divided into the control group(n=54)and the study group(n=54)by random number table method. The control group was given routine postoperative nursing, while the study group was given nursing intervention based on IKAP theory on the basis of the control group. The times of first exhaust, defecation and getting up after operation and hospitalization time, postoperative complications, negative emotions[self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self-rating depression scale(SDS)]and quality of life[the 36-item short form health survey(SF-36)]were compared between two groups.Result:The times of first exhaust, defecation and getting up after operation and hospitalization time in the study group were shorter than those in the control group, the incidence of postoperative complications was lower than that in the control group, the SDS score and SAS score after 3 months of intervention were lower than those in the control group, and the scores of SF-36 in all dimensions were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Nursing intervention based on IKAP theory can more effectively promote the physiological rehabilitation of patients after meningioma resection, reduce the occurrence of complications, and also help to improve the emotional state and quality of life.
