Clinical Observation of Wuling Powder Combined with Finger Pressing Massage at Fengchi Point in the Treatment of Patients with Phlegm Yin Type Cervical Headache

Abstract：Objective:To analyze the effect of Wuling Powder combined with finger pressing massage at fengchi point in the treatment of patients with phlegm Yin type cervical headache.Method:A total of 60 patients with phlegm Yin type cervical headache who admitted to Heyuan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2020 to February 2023 were selected as the research objects,the patients were divided into the control group(n=30)and experimental group(n=30)according to the random number table method.The control group was treated with Sibelium Capsules,and the experimental group was treated with Wuling Powder combined with finger pressing massage at fengchi point on the basis of the control group.The headache degree,headache frequency and duration related score,headache impact assessment scale-6(HIT-6)score,neck hemodynamics indexes(the average flow velocity of basilar artery,left vertebral artery,right vertebral artery)before and after 4 weeks of treatment were compared between two groups.Result:There were no significant differences in the headache degree score,headache attack frequency and duration related score,HIT-6 score and cervical hemodynamic indexes between two groups before treatment(P>0.05);the headache degree score,headache attack frequency and duration related score,HIT-6 score in the experimental group after 4 weeks of treatment were lower than those in the control group,and the average flow velocity of basilar artery,left vertebral artery and right vertebral artery were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Wuling Powder combined with finger pressing massage at fengchi point can significantly improve the degree and frequency of headache in patients with phlegm Yin type cervical headache,and improve cervical blood flow.
