Abstract:Objective:To analyze the effect of modified laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal hernia repair(TEP)on adult patients with inguinal hernia.Method:A total of 80 adult patients with inguinal hernia who were surgically treated in Ganyu District People's Hospital of Lianyungang City from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected and divided into control group and study group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Lichtenstein hernia repair, and the study group was treated with modified TEP.The perioperative period indexes, oxidative stress, gastrointestinal hormone levels and complications were compared between the two groups.Result:The surgery time and postoperative hospitalization time of the study group were shorter than those of the control group, and the amount of intraoperative blood loss was less than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before surgery, there were no significant differences in the level of oxidative stress between the two groups(P>0.05).At 1 d after surgery, the total antioxidant capacity(TAC)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)levels of both groups were lower than those before surgery, and the malondialdehyde(MDA)levels were higher than those before surgery, but the TAC and GSH-Px levels of the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the MDA level was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before surgery, there were no significant differences in gastrointestinal hormone levels between the two groups(P>0.05).At 1 d after surgery, the levels of motilin(MTL)and gastrin(GAS)in both groups were lower than those before surgery, but the levels of MTL and GAS in the study group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of postoperative complications in the study group was 7.50%,which was lower than 30.00%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Modified TEP can optimize the surgical indicators of adult inguinal hernia patients, reduce the oxidative stress of patients, reduce the gastrointestinal function stimulation of patients, and reduce the postoperative complications of patients.
