Relationship between Sperm Morphology with Sperm Concentration and Sperm Motility in Male Infertility Patients

Abstract：Objective:To explore the relationship between sperm morphology with sperm concentration and sperm motility in male infertility patients.Method:A total of 1 986 male infertility patients admitted to the Reproductive Medicine Center of Bijie Hospital of Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected.All patients underwent semen examination.The normal rate of sperm morphology and sperm malformation index(SDI)in patients with different sperm concentration and motility were compared.The relationship between sperm morphology with sperm concentration and sperm motility was analyzed.Result:The normal rates of sperm morphology in low concentration group,medium concentration group and high concentration group gradually increased,and SDI gradually decreased,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The normal rate of sperm morphology in the medium concentration group and the high concentration group was higher than that in the low concentration group,and the normal rate of sperm morphology in the high concentration group was higher than that in the medium concentration group;SDI in medium concentration group and high concentration group was lower than that in low concentration group,and SDI in high concentration group was lower than that in medium concentration group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The normal rate of sperm morphology in low motility group,medium motility group,medium high motility group and high motility group gradually increased,and SDI gradually decreased,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The normal sperm morphology rate of the medium motility group,medium high motility group and high motility group was higher than that of the low motility group,the normal sperm morphology rate of the medium high motility group and high motility group was higher than that of the medium motility group,and the normal sperm morphology rate of the high motility group was higher than that of the medium high vitality group;SDI of the medium motility group,medium high motility group and high motility group was lower than that of the low motility group,SDI of the medium high motility group and high motility group was lower than that of the medium motility group,and SDI of the high motility group was lower than that of the medium motility group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that the normal rate of sperm morphology was positively correlated with sperm concentration and sperm motility(P<0.05).Conclusion:The normal rate of sperm morphology increased with the increase of sperm concentration and motility.There was a positive correlation between sperm morphology and sperm concentration and motility in male infertility patients,which was an important index to evaluate semen quality.
