Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of the changes of body temperature by airway heating during pediatric surgery.Method:40 pediatric patients of general anesthesia during laparoscopy were randomly divided into two groups,20 cases in each group. The observation group was airway heating group, which was provided continuous heating during the children were mechanically ventilated by the airway heating equipment. The control group was mechanically ventilated by normal indoor temperature. The temperature of children’s esophageal and the airway temperature immediately after mechanical ventilation and 1.5 hours later in both groups were observed and compared.Result:In the 1.5 h after ventilation, the observation group was significantly higher than the control group, and higher than that in mechanical ventilation time, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After ventilation for 1.5 h,esophageal temperature in the control group was significantly decreased (P<0.05),and the esophageal temperature in the observation group was higher than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Airway heating plays an important role in lessening the decrease of pediatric temperature and maintaining the temperature during the pediatric surgery.
