Clinical Value of Bronchoscopy in Elderly Severe Pulmonary Infection Combined with Atelectasis

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the application value of fiberoptic bronchoscope(bronchoscopy) in the treatment of elderly patients with severe pulmonary infection combined with atelectasis.Method:Forty cases of severe pulmonary infection combined with atelectasis elderly patients admitted to our hospital from January 2012 to February 2016 were selected as the objects and randomly divided into two groups,each group of 20 cases.The control group was treated with conventional therapy,while the study group was given bronchoscopy treatment combined with conventional therapy,the clinical results,as well as the blood gas analysis(PaO2,PaCO2,SaO2,pH) before and after treatment of the two groups were compared.Result:The total effective rate of the study group was 95.00%, which was significantly higher than 70.00% of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference were not statistically significant on blood gas analysis between the two groups before the treatment(P>0.05),after the treatment,the PaO2,PaCO2,and SaO2 of the study group were better than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Bronchoscopy treatment can significantly improve the efficacy,and improve the blood gas analysis of elderly patients with severe pulmonary infection combined with atelectasis,it is worthy of reference.
