Study on the Efficacy of Tongmaisini Decoction in Treatment of the Neurotoxicity of Oxaliplatin

Abstract：Objective:To observe the efficacy of Tongmaisini Decoction in treatment of the neurotoxicity of Oxaliplatin.Method:Sixty-two patients with colorectal cancer(CRC) in our hospital from May 2011 to January 2013 were randomly divided into the treatment group(n=32) and the control group(n=30). The treatment group was simultaneously treated with Tongmaisini Decoction based on the FOLFOX or XELOX project,the control group was only treated with the chemotherapy.The peripheral neurotoxicity incidence in the two groups were observed after 4 cycles of chemotherapy.Result:The total incidence of neurotoxicity after therapy of the treatment group and the control group were 40.6%and 83.3%,the incidence of the treatment group was obviously lower than which of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Tongmaisini Decoction can significantly reduce the Oxaliplatin induced peripheral neurotoxicity.
