Clinical Analysis of Cardiac Myxoma

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical feature of cardiac myxoma and to improve the congnition of clinician on cardiac myxoma.Method:Twenty-two patients with cardiac myxoma admitted to our hospital from January 2006 to December 2015 who had been confirmed by the surgical pathology were selected as the objects.The clinical symptoms,physical examinations,blood pressure monitoring and related auxiliary examinations of these patients were analyzed and summarized.Result:The clinical symptoms of patients with cardiac myxoma were priority to dyspnea chest discomfort(77.3%).The typical sign was the audible systolic murmur in the left edge of sternum or the apex area of heart(72.7%).The blood pressure were normal in most conditions(90.9%);ST-T change, tachycardia and ventricular hypertrophy were the most changes of electrocardiogram.The most uncommon change of X-ray features was pulmonary blood clot,and the enlargement of left atrium could oppressed trachea backwards.The accuracy of echocardiography in the diagnosis of myxoma could reach 100%. Conclusion:Clinical symptoms,physical examinations,blood pressure,electrocardiogram and X-ray may indicate the possibilities of cardiac myxoma,while echocardiography can provide definitive diagnosis.
