Abstract:Objective:To investigate the prevalence of microalbuminuria(MAU) and its related factors in middle-aged and elderly population with normal renal function in Shunde Longjiang area.Method: One thousand eight hundred and seventy-three residents(older than 46 years) from the Shunde Longjiang area had physical examination in our hospital from July 2013 to March 2015 were recruited by stratified cluster sampling method.Health questionnaires and laboratory related indexes were investigated. The prevalence of MAU was investigated and the related factors for MAU were analyzed with multivariate Logistic regression analysis.Result:The overall prevalence of MAU in middle-aged and elderly population was 10.57%.The prevalence of MAU was higher in females than that in males, and the prevalence of MAU was increasing with aging, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Age,diabetes mellitus and hypertension were independently associated with MAU according to the result of Logistic regression analysis. Conclusion:MAU is closely related to age, diabetes mellitus and hypertension, which suggests that strict control of blood glucose and blood pressure,as well as the timely treatment can slow down the chronic kidney disease.
