Value of Procalcitonin and Hypersensitive C-reactive Protein in Detection of Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Bronchitis
Abstract:Objective:To discuss the clinical value of procalcitonin(PCT) and hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) in detection of acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis.Method:Fifty patients with acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis were selected as the observation group, and 40 middle aged and elderly people in our hospital for physical examination were selected as the control group, data of PCT and hs-CRP were respectively detected in the control group and the observation group before after treatment.Result:The concentrations of PCT and hs-CRP in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistical significance(P<0.05).concentrations of PCT and hs-CRP in the observation group were significantly lower than those before treatment, the differences were statistical significance(P<0.05),but compared with the control group, there was no statistical significance(P>0.05),linear correlation analysis showed positive correlation between concentration of PCT and hs-CRP(r=0.825,P<0.01).Conclusion:Concentrations of PCT and hs-CRP are significantly increased before treatment and significantly decreased after treatment in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, which can provide a reference for judging the severity of the disease and evaluate the treatment effect.
