Abstract:Objective:To analyze and compare the diagnosis value of X-ray plain film,CT and MRI imaging in vertebral metastasis.Method:The images about 86 patients with vertebral metastasis treated from January 2011 to May 2015 in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were confirmed by paracentesis or postoperative pathological examination and received the X-ray plain film,CT and MRI examination.Result:The detection rate of vertebral metastasis based on X-ray plain film,CT and MRI was 48.3%,73.0% and 94.4%. The detection rate of MRI was significantly higher than those of X-ray plain film and CT(P<0.05).According to the detection results for metastasis of different vertebral parts(cervical vertebra, thoracic vertebra, lumbar vertebra, sacral vertebra),the detection rate of MRI was significantly higher than those of X-ray plain film and CT(P<0.05).According to the detection results of different types of metastasis(spinal canal fracture, soft tissue mass, pathological fracture),the detection rate of MRI was significantly higher than those of X-ray plain film and CT(P<0.05).Conclusion:According to the analysis results of detection rate and applications features, three methods are irreplaceable. The conventional X-ray plain film is applied for the major diagnosis of metastasis.CT is applied for the diagnosis of early lesions.MRI has the highest detection rate. When the abnormality is found but cannot be confirmed through X-ray plain film and CT,MRI can be applied to avoid the occurrence of missed diagnosis.
