Curative Effect Observation of the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Treatment of Hand Foot Mouth Disease

Abstract:Objective:To study the treatment effect differences between integrative traditional Chinese and Western medicine and pure Western medicine in treatment of hand foot and mouth disease.Method:176 cases of children with hand foot and mouth disease in our hospital from March 2013 to March 2014 were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group, 88 cases in each group. The control group was given the intravenous ribavirin 10 mg/kg,1/d,and symptomatic treatment such as atomization, the experimental group was given the traditional Chinese medicine for external use and take orally on this basis. The patients of the two groups who with fever, skin rashes subside, and the variety of other physical indicators were stricted monitoring.Result:The cure rate and total effective rate of the experimental group were 71.6% and 94.3% respectively, and were higher than the control group were 56.8% and 89.8%, the differences were statistically significance(P<0.05).The fever subsided time,the rash subsided time, and the recovery time of the experimental group were shorter than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significance(P<0.05). Conclusion:Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in treatment of hand foot and mouth disease compared with pure Western medicine treatment, possesses the advantages of shorten period of treatment, improve the curative effect.
