The Effects of Early Enteral Nutrition on Nutritional Status and Complications of 32 Cases with Severe Craniocerebral Injury in ICU

Abstract:Objective:To observe the effects of early enteral nutrition support on nutritional status and complications in patients with ICU with severe craniocerebral injury,and provide the basis for clinical therapy.Method:64 cases severe craniocerebral injury in ICU in our hospital from February 2012 to February 2015 were selected as the research objects and they were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,32 cases in each group. The patients in the observation group were given early enteral nutrition support via nasogastric tube,and the patients in the control group were given conventional liquid diet via nasogastric tube.The occurrence of two groups of patients with nutritional status and complications were compared.Result:The patients in the observation group after 1 weeks of treatment,the serum albumin(ALB),plasma total protein(TP) test results were better than those in the control group patients, gastrointestinal hemorrhage,stress ulcer,abdominal distension and diarrhea,constipation,regurgitation and aspiration and other complications were significantly less than those in the control group,there were significant difference between two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:Early enteral nutrition support in patients with ICU with severe craniocerebral injury can significantly improve the nutritional status of the patients,and has positive meaning to promote the recovery of prognosis and reduce gastrointestinal complications.Accordingly,it is worth to popularize in the clinical application.
