MRI Findings and Misdiagnose Analysis of Atypical Meningioma

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the MRI features of atypical meningioma,to analyze the reasons of misdiagnosis and improve the accuracy rate of MRI in diagnosis of atypical meningioma.Method:12 cases with pathologically confirmed meningioma were analyzed retrospectively,which were not listed as the first diagnosis in preoperative MRI.All cases underwent MR plain scan and enhanced scan.Result:In 12 cases there were 7 cases in the typical sites,5 cases in atypical sites;9 cases with second or third diagnosis of meningioma,3 cases without diagnosis of meningioma.Conclusion:Atypical meningioma has various MRI imaging manifestations without typical signs.Improving the understanding of its image manifestations can reduce misdiagnosis.
