Curative Effect of Metformin in the Treatment of Pre-diabetes

Abstract：Objective:To study the applied value of Metformin in the treatment of pre-diabetes.Method:68 cases of patients with pre-diabetes in our hospital from December 2011 to December 2013 were selected,they were randomly divided into two groups,34 cases in each group.The control group was given routine exercise intervention,diet therapy,the observation group on the basis of the control group was given metformin treatment,the effect of two groups were compared,and the adverse reaction of the observation group was observed.Result:In the observation group,23 cases had marked effect,10 cases were effect, the total effective rate was 97.1%.The control group,18 cases had marked effect,8 cases were effect,the total effective rate was 76.5%,the total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,there was statistical significance(P<0.05).The incidence rate of the observation group was 2.9%, no adverse reactions in patients of the control group,there was no statistical significance(P<0.05).There were 2 cases of patients with diabetes in the observation group,the incidence rate of the observation group was 5.9%,the control group was 20.6%,there was statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:By adopting of pre-diabetes patients were treated with Metformin,can effectively improve the patients blood glucose levels,it is worthy of clinical application.
