The Study on the Relationship between Pulse Pressure with Carotid Atherosclerosis of the Senile Hypertensive Patients
MA Kai-xian
Abstract:Objective:To explore the relationship between pulse pressure with carotid atherosclerosis of senile hypertensive patients.Method:96 patients with hypertension were selected in our hospital from September 2013 to November 2014,the pulse pressure between 40-60 mm Hg was selected as the control group(45 cases),PP>60 mm Hg was the observation group(51 cases),two groups of patients with blood glucose, blood lipid, blood pressure, carotid intima-media thickness, plaque detectable rate index were measured and compared.Result:Fasting blood glucose and blood lipid between the two groups had no statistical significance(P>0.05),the mean diastolic blood pressure of the control group was greater than the observation group, the average systolic blood pressure was less than the observation group(P<0.05);the carotid artery IMT and rate of artery plaque detection of the control group were less than the observation group(P<0.05);carotid artery IMT and 24 h mean diastolic pressure was negative, and the average pulse pressure 24 h,the average diastolic blood pressure was positively correlated. Conclusion:Elderly patients with hypertension pulse pressure and the carotid artery IMT values are closely related, will affect the extent of atherosclerosis,is of great significance for the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
