Application Effect of Health Education in Patients with Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the nursing effect of health guidance on the application of hypertensive and diabetic patients.Method:A total of 1000 employees in a unit were screened for disease in the author’s hospital in March 2012.Among them,180 patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus were selected as the observation group,they were given health guidance for nursing intervention.150 patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus at the same period were selected as the control group,they were given conventional nursing methods.The improvement of blood pressure, blood sugar,compliance behavior and nursing satisfaction between the two groups after nursing were observed and compared.Result:After nursing, the systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose of the two groups were significantly lower than before nursing,the systolic blood pressure of the observation group was (118.14±1.43)mm Hg,which was significantly lower than (135.66±0.95)mm Hg of the control group,the diastolic blood pressure of the observation group was (74.19±1.32)mm Hg,which was significantly lower than (89.41±2.59)mm Hg of the control group,the fasting blood glucose of the observation group was (4.13±0.35)mmol/L,which was significantly lower than (6.76±0.94)mmol/L of the control group,the 2-hour postprandial blood glucose of the observation group was (5.47±0.69)mmol/L,which was significantly lower than (9.65±1.55)mmol/L of the control group,the compliance rate of disease knowledge,a balanced diet,taking medicine on time and blood glucose monitoring in the observation group were significantly higher than those in control group,and the nursing satisfaction of the observation group was 97.22%(175/180),which was significantly higher than 74.67%(112/150) of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of health education to patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus has obvious curative effect, can improve the patient’s blood pressure,reduce blood sugar,is worth to be widely applied in the community.
