The Cultivation Medical Students Ability and Their Practices in Doctor-Patient Communication

Abstract:Objective:To explore how to strengthen the cultivation of the doctor-patient communication ability of medical interns,improve their doctor-patient communication ability,and reduce the occurrence of medical disputes. Method:According to the Calgary-Cambridge medical communication framework,courses of“The Cultivation and Practice of Medical Communication Skills”were designed and carried out,and the instructions adopted small-size classes with specific case studies and clinical scenario simulation. SEGUE scale was used to measure and evaluate the doctor-patient communication ability of medical students.Result:According to the SEGUE scale evaluation results,in the five dimensions of doctor-patient communication,students performed best in the beginning of communication stage and worst in the effective communication stage,which showed that there was still a need to further improve the doctor-patient communication ability.Conclusion:In the new situation,a set of suitable curriculum and training methods for medical students needs to be explored,and the results need to be summarized,in order to provide theoretical guidance for the training of doctor-patient communication ability of medical students and their practice.
