Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of modified method of extracapsular cataract extraction surgery.Method:88 cataract patients(116 eyes) in our hospital from June 2013 to June 2014 were selected, they were divided into the traditional group and the modified group according to the random number table method,44 cases in each group. The traditional group was given traditional extracapsular cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation, the modified group was given the modified method of extracapsular cataract extraction surgery. The operative time, recovery of visual acuity and postoperative complications of the two groups were observed and compared.Result:The operative time of the modified group was (68.6±10.5)min,which was significantly shorter than (85.6±11.5)min of the traditional group, the incidence of postoperative complications of the modified group was 13.6%(6/44),which was significantly lower than 31.8%(14/44) of the traditional group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in corrected visual acuity before surgery between the two groups(P>0.05),the corrected visual acuity of the two groups after surgery were improved compared with before surgery, and the corrected visual acuity of the modified group after surgery were significantly better than the traditional group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: Modified extracapsular cataract extraction not only has small incision, shorter operative time, less postoperative complications advantages, and can effectively improve eyesight condition of patients,is worthy of popularization in clinical.
