Abstract:Objective:To investigate the value of X-ray and MRI in the diagnosis of typical scapulohumeral periarthritis and to explore the relationship between imaging features and syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine.Method:135 cases of typical scapulohumeral periarthritis were reviewed retrospectively.X-ray was performed in all cases,of which 24 cases were examined with magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).Result:Out of the 135 cases in the study, wind cold dampness was diagnosed in 32 cases, stasis type in 22 cases,qi and blood deficiency in 81 cases, fuzziness or obliteration of the normal subacromial fat line in 42 cases.Thickened subacromial bursa in 4 cases, mottling and lamellar calcification inside the soft tissues of shoulder in 36 cases. Degenerative lesions of the shoulder joint in 51 cases.Marginal hyperostosis on the articular surface in 24 cases, different levels of osteoporosis or Joint space changes in 27 cases and normal X-ray images in 18 cases.MRI results of the 24 patients revealed 21 cases of hydrarthrosis in shoulder cavity,3 cases of hydrarthrosis in subacromial bursa and 8 cases of rotator cuff injury. Conclusion:Patients with typical scapulohumeral periarthritis showes certain imaging features, which can provide the basis for clinical classification as well as the references for syndrome differentiation.
