Clinical Follow-up Study of Folic Acid on Prevention of the Recurrence of Colorectal Adenomatous Polyps
Abstract:Objective:To analyze the clinical effect of folic acid on prevention of recurrence of colorectal adenomatous polyp.Method:180 cases of patients with colorectal adenomatous polyps from February 2007 to February 2012 in our hospital, all patients were treated with polyp resection by endoscopic, they were divided into the intervention group and the control group,90 cases in each group, the serum folate levels of two groups were determined, according to folate levels of the intervention group and the control group were divided into low folate levels group and high folate levels group, the intervention group was treated with folate, the control group was not treated with medication, the recurrence of colorectal adenomatous polyps were compared by colonoscopy review in two group.Result:The adenoma recurrence rate of the intervention group(25.6%) was lower than that of the control group(38.9%).The adenoma recurrence rate of patients with high folate levels in the intervention group(47.4%) was higher than that of the control group(25.7%),but the difference had no statistical significance(P>0.05).The adenoma recurrence rate of patients with low folate levels in the intervention group(9.6%) was lower than that of the control group(47.3%),the difference was statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:Folic can reduce the adenoma recurrence rate of patients with low folate levels, and has application value very positive.
