The Influence of Aspherical and Spherical IOLs on Higher-order Aberrations in Patients with Cataract

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effects of aspherical and spherical IOLs on higher-order aberrations after cataract extirpation and artificial lens implantation.Method:60 cases of patients with cataract were selected and divided into control groups and observation groups by the random number sequence, they were all taken phacoemulsification and artificial lens implantation.Aspherical IOLs were taken in observation group, spherical IOLs were taken in control group. After 1 month, higher-order aberrations in cornea, lens and eyes were contrasted between control group and observation group.Result:At 1 months after operations, higher-order aberrations in cornea, ens and eye full order aberrations were significantly lower in observation group than that in control group in 3 mm and 5 mm pupil diameter of the cornea(P<0.05).Conclusion:Aspheric IOLs can reduce higher-order aberrationsin cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation, and improve function of vision.
