Abstract:Objective:To investigate the value of procalcitonin(PCT),C -reactive protein (CRP) in the diagnosis and treatment of neonatal sepsis. Method:60 cases of neonatal sepsis were as observation group,60 full-term healthy newborns at the same period in our hospital were choosed as control group, respectively, neonatal serum PCT and CRP level was detected and compared in the two groups, and after treating one week in the observation group, serum PCT and CRP level was detected, serum level of PCT and CRP was compared before and after treatment.Result:The level of PCT was (8.01±4.02)ng/L,the level of CRP was (23.16±3.78)mg/L,they were significantly higher in the observation group than those in the control group(P<0.01).After treating one week in the observation group, the level of PCT was (1.90±0.25)ng/L,the level of CRP was (4.08±1.09)mg/L,they were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.01). Conclusion:The level of procalcitonin and C-reactive protein in neonatal sepsis are significantly increased, and decreased significantly after treatment, they can contribute to diagnosis and treatment evaluation of neonatal sepsis .
