Effects of Severe Traumatic Brain Injury with Hypothermia
WANG Hong-jun
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical effects and adverse reactions of severe traumatic brain injury with hypothermia.Method:84 patients with severe traumatic brain injury were randomly divided into the conventional treatment group(group A,n=40) and the hypothermia treatment group(group B,n=44). Group B was as the same procedure of group A except hypothermia. The efficiency after six-months and adverse reaction of two groups were observed.Result:Compared with group A,the good recovery rate of group B was statistically significantly increased(P<0.05),and the mortality rate of group B was significantly lower(P<0.05). There was no significant difference of the incidence of adverse reactions between group A and group B(P>0.05).Conclusion:Compared with conventional therapy, hypothermia on severe traumatic brain injury can significantly improve a good recovery rate, and can effectively reduce mortality, but no increase in incidence of adverse reactions.
