Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Exenatide combined with Metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Method:67 cases with type 2 diabetes mellitus in our hospital from June 2011 to June 2013 were considered as the observation group and another 34 cases were considered as the control group. The observation group was treated with Exenatide and Metformin, while the control group was treated with Repaglinide.Comparing the clinical efficacy and safety of two groups.Result:16 weeks after the treatment, the observation group hypoglycemic compliance rate rose to 62.69%,the control group rose to 50.00%(P<0.05).After treatment,FPG,HbA1c and BMI in the observation group compared with the control group decreased significantly,P<0.05).The observation group compared with the control group in 2 h PBG was significantly reduced, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05). The observation group compared with the control group, there were significant differences in serum lipids and C peptide index after treatment(P<0.05),the observation group can significantly reduce blood lipids, and elevated serum C peptide index compared with the control group. The incidence of adverse reaction in observation group was 4.48%,the control group was 11.76%,there was no significant difference between two groups(P>0.05).Adverse reactios of two groups with drug withdrawal and symptomatic treatment were improved and disappeared, did not cause adverse consequences. Conclusion:Exenatide can continuously and effectively control blood glucose in type 2 diabetes mellitus. The combined application of exenatide and metformin could reduce patients’ body weight, improve endocrine indexes of patients and reduce the risk of hypoglycemia,it could be considered as a good choice in treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus,is worthy of clinical application.
