The Curative Effect and Safety Analysis of Cefalexin in the Treatment of Periodontitis

Abstract：Objective:To discuss the curative effect and safety analysis of Cefalexin in treatment of periodontitis.Method:110 cases of patients with periodontitis admitted our hospital from May 2012 to January 2014 were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,each group of 55 cases. The control group with the treatment of metronidazole and the observation group with the treatment of Cefalexin combined with Metronidazole. And the curative effect and adverse reactions of two groups were compared.Result:After a course of treatment,two groups had statistically significant differences on gum pain,red and swollen gums(P<0.05). The total effective rate of the control group was 74.5%while the treatment group was 94.5%after treatment,and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05). The adverse reactions of two groups were lighter and not affected the treatment.Conclusion:The effect of Cefalexin combined with Metronidazole is more significant better than only use Metronidazole,and it can effectively improve the cure rate,relieve symptoms,no obvious adverse reactions,and worthy of popularizing in clinical application.
