QIU Mei-ying
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the recurrence-prevention effect of oral Desogestrel and Ethinylestradiol Tablets(Marvelon) or Levonorgestrel-releasing Intrauterine System(Mirena) after hysteroscopic endometrial polypectomy.Method:247 patients who received hysteroscopic endometrial polypectomy and were confirmed with endometrial polyp by postoperative pathological examination, were enrolled into this study. The patients were divided into three groups. Marvelon group(n=84) was given Marvelon Tablets three to six months after the operation.Mirena group (n=81) received Levonorgestrel-releasing Intrauterine System after the operation. And control group(n=82) received no treatment after hysteroscopic endometrial polyectomy. The three groups were followed 12 months after the procedure, and the recurrence rate and menstruation of three groups were compared.Result:The recurrence rate of marvelon group was 5.95%,mirena group was 3.70%,control group was 18.29%,control group had significantly higher recurrence rate than marvelon group and mirena group(P<0.05).There was no statistical significance between marvelon group and mirena groups(P>0.05).The control group had lower proportion of low menstruation volume in three, six, twelve months after the operation than marvelon and mirena group(P<0.01).Conclusion:Oral Marvelon tablets or Levonorgestrel-releasing Intrauterine System after hysteroscopy for endometrial polys siginificantly decreases the recurrence rate and the menstruation volume.
