Effects of Ezetimibe Combined with Atorvastatin on Plaque of Carotid Artery in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Abstract:Objective:To explore the effects of Ezetimibe combined with Atorvastatin on plaque of carotid artery in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Method:A total of 70 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus,suffering from plaque of carotid,were studied and randomly assigned to control group(Atorvastatin 20 mg,n=35),treatment group(Ezetimibe 10 mg combined with Atorvastatin 20 mg,n=35).After treatment for 6 months,to monitor the LDL-C,TC,TG and the level of carotid IMT.Result:Compared with the control group,the levels of LDL-C,TC,TG and carotid IMT of the treatment group were significantly decreased(P<0.05).Conclusion:Ezetimibe combined with Atorvastatin can significantly decrease serum lipid level and carotid artery plaques.
