Study of Reconstruction of Rabbit Mandibular Defects with Chitosan/Tricalcium Phosphate Scaffold
Abstract:Objective:To determine whether the chitosan/tricalcium phosphate(CTCP) scaffold can repair mandibular defect of rabbits. Method:CTCP scaffolds were implanted into one side artificial defect of rabbit mandibular, the other side defect was left unrepaired. Six weeks later, the new bone regeneration in the defects was investigated by macroscopic observation,X-ray and histologic examination. Result:The experimental sides present better reconstruction. Conclusion:CTCP scaffold can serve bone regeneration in mandibular defects.
