Abstract:Objective:To study and compare the toxic side effect of Oxycontin and Duragesic in the treatment of cancer pain.Method:80 cases of cancer pain patients who were being treated at author’s hospital from November 2011 to November 2013 were chosed, were divided into the experimental group(40 cases) and the control group(40 cases). The experimental group was treated with Duragesic(Fentanyl Transdermal),the control group was treated with Oxycontin (Oxycodone Hydrochloride Controlled-release Tablets). After different treatment, the toxic side effect of two groups were compared and analyzed.Result:For some markedly symptomatic patients, after appropriate treatment, they could continue to medicine. In the experimental group, the incidence of constipation was 20.0%,nausea and vomiting were 10.0%,were lower than the control group(22.5%,20.0%),but comparing the two groups had no statistical significance(P>0.05).The incidence of dizziness, sleepiness, mental disorder in neurological side of the experimental group were 7.5%,5.0% and 5.0%,were lower than the control group(12.5%, 10.0% and 10.0%),but no statistical difference was found between two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The toxic side effect about using Oxycontin and Duragesic to treat cancer pain are not serious, are easy to handle, and are relative safer.
