The Observation of Efficacy for Noninvasive Positive Pressure Ventilation in the Treatment of COPD and Respiratory Muscle Fatigue
CHEN Yu-mei
Abstract:Objective:To observe noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NPPV) in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary (COPD) and respiratory machine fatigue (RMF) curative effect.Method:74 cass of patients with COPD and RMF were selected during the period of May 2011 to April 2013 and RMF COPD patients admitted, all patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, experimental group by the nose and mouth mask NPPV,selection pressure support (PSV)+breath at the end of the positive pressure (PEEP) ventilation mode;the control group only given routine therapy, including anti-infection,acid-base balance correction and bronchiectasis. To compare two groups of patients prognosis and length of hospital stay, and evaluation of NPPV in the treatment of COPD and the curative effect of RMF.Result:The patients with respiratory failure observed in 4 patients, including 1 case of death in the experimental group, the control group there were 12 cases with respiratory failure,5 patients died in the control group, the prognosis was statistical significance between the two groups(P<0.05),and the length of hospital stay (10.2±2.4)d in the experimental group was significantly shorter than that in the control group (21.5±6.8)d .Conclusion:NPPV treatment and RMF can obviously improve the prognosis of patients with COPD,to reduce the mortality rate, clinical curative effect is distinct, and worthy of further promotion in clinic.
