Therapeutic Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography in Aged Patients of Obstructive Jaundice
Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of therapeutic endoscopic retrograde cholangiopanereatography(ERCP) in aged patients of obstructive jaundice.Method:To analyze the 281 patients older than 70 years who were healed with ERCP in August 2010 to March 2013,including the data about the managements during perioperative period,the rates of complication and how to settle them.Result:274 patients were treated successfully,and the success rate was 97.5%.The whole complication rate was 6.2%,and the mortality rate was 0.4%in 274 cases.Conclusion:Therapeutic ERCP and related procedures are safe and effective in aged patients of obstructive jaundice,and advanced age should not be regarded as the contraindication of the procedure.
