Abstract:Objective:To investingate the clinical efficacy of Kyphoplasty in the treatment of osteopomtic thoracolumbar vertebral fracture nonunion. Method:From January 2011 to February 2013,the retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 20 patients with nonunion of osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral fractures were studied. The curative effect was evaluated by visual analogue scale(VAS).Result:The VAS score of 20 patients was (8.4±1.5) before operation. (1.1±0.4) at the two day postoperatively, there were significant difference between the two phase(P<0.05),and(1.7±0.8) after one month, the difference was no statistically significant(P>0.05).And the vertebral height was significant increased from preoperative to postoperative average (12.05±1.50) mm vs (16.12±2.40) mm, respectively, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05),after 1 month average height of (15.21±3.40) mm,and postoperative 2 d,the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).Conclusion:Balloon kyphoplasty is an effective in the treatment of osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral fracture nonunion,it is worthy of clinical application.
