Limbal Epithelial Stem Cells Transplantation and Conjunctival Autograft for Treatment of Primary Pterygium
Abstract： Objective:To observe the effect of limbal epithelial stem cells transplantation and conjunctival autograft for treatment of primary pterygium. Methods:The author’s hospital for 33 patients (38 eyes) with primary pterygium,down a microscope pterygium excision combined with limbal conjunctival flap transplantation of stem cells,postoperative observation of corneal wound healing time,degree of eye irritation and relapse.Results:Postoperative follow-up of 6 months to 2 years,the data are complete and conform to the standards of this study,a total of 23 cases (28 eyes),corneal wound smooth 2 days postoperatively, light irritation,23 eyes cured,improvement in 3 eyes,2 eyes recurrence,the recurrence rate 7.14%.Conclusion:With conjunctival flap transplantation of stem cells of limbus of cornea to treat pterygium,operation is simple,safe,effective,the recurrence rate is low,worth clinical promotion.
