Assistant Effect of Citalopram in Treatment of Chronic Schizophrenia
Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and adverse reactions of ziprasidone combined with citalopram in treatment of negative symptoms of chronic schizophrenia.Methods:82 cases of chronic schizophrenia were randomly divided into combination group(ziprasidone combined with citalopram) and single group(ziprasidone).The efficacy and adverse reactions were evaluated by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS),Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms (SANS) and Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale (TESS) at the ends of week 4,8,12 treatments respectively.Results:At the end of week 8,PANSS total point,negative factor point,SANS total point and sub-scale point of combination group were all obviously less than those before treatment.Meantime, negative factor points were obviously less than that of single group.At the end of week 4,8,12,TESS points of combination were less than that of single group. Conclusion:Ziprasidone combined with citalopram can significantly improve the negative symptoms of chronic schizophrenia and bring less adverse reactions.
