The Change and Significance of Serum IL-21 and IL-6 in Patients with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura
Abstract:Objective:To study the changes and clinical significances of interleukin 21(IL-21) and interleukin 6(IL-6) in idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) patients between pre and post treatment.Methods:IL-21 and IL-6 were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results:The levels of serum IL-21 and IL-6 in pre-treatment ITP patients were obviously higher than normal group(P<0.01);After treatment, the levels were significantly lower than pre-treatment except ineffective group(P<0.01),and higher than normal group(P<0.01);There was no significant difference in newly diagnosed group and ineffective group(P>0.05);The levels were obviously lower in high effective group, moderate effective group and improved group than in ineffective group(P<0.01);But there was no difference between moderate effective and improved group(P>0.05).Conclusion:IL-21 and IL-6 might play an important role in the pathogenic process of ITP and the levels are changed with severity and course of the disease. It’s necessary to detect the IL-21 and IL-6 levels regularly to observe the treatment effective and prognosis.
