Advance Research on Animal Models of Diabetes Mellitus
Abstract：Animal models have been used extensively in diabetes research for a long time. Apart from their use in studying the pathogenesis of the disease and its complications,all new treatments for diabetes,including islet cell transplantation and preventative strategies,are initially investigated in animals. Therefore,improving experimental diabetic animal models and looking for excellent models of human-like pathogenic process of diabetes become much more significant in the pathogenesis of diabetes and its complications.
