Abstract:The article takes the Panyu District Rail Transit Express in Guangzhou as an example, based on multi-source spatiotemporal data, and comprehensively applies buffer zone analysis, land use change matrix, point of interest(POI)structure analysis, system clustering, and spatiotemporal visualization of crowd activities to explore the evolutionary characteristics of urban spatial structure and crowd activity patterns before and after the construction of the express line.Research has shown that express lines significantly drive the growth of commercial, residential, and public service land in station areas, with a rapid increase in the number of life service POIs and diverse functional positioning of each station. The analysis of pedestrian and bus accessibility shows that Panyu Square Station and Nancun Wanbo Station have the strongest comprehensive service capacity, while the accessibility around Chentougang Station and Guangzhou South Station is relatively weak. The heat map analysis reveals a spatial mismatch in the coverage of occupational and residential services at stations, and the express line has not fully covered high-density employment and residential areas.Based on the analysis results, suggestions are proposed for optimizing rail connections, mixing land functions, and improving the network to enhance the guidance ability of express lines on urban spatial structure and crowd activities, providing reference for rail transit planning in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
