Abstract:Visual field clarity is a key indicator for evaluating the quality of window views, and it is jointly influenced by the characteristics of shading measures, the attributes of the viewed content, and observer-related factors.Existing studies mostly focus on a single factor, while the combined effects of these three aspects lack systematic investigation and quantitative experimental validation. This study focuses on shading and window design from the perspective of visual field clarity, and establishes an experimental protocol that integrates objective visual function tests and subjective evaluations. It systematically assess the visual performance of three typical shading materials—window films, electrochromic glass, and fabric shading curtains—under various visible light transmittance(VLT)and color conditions. The experimental results demonstrate that shading materials have a significant impact on visual field clarity, and that VLT is the core parameter influencing visual performance, with high-VLT materials generally exhibiting better performance. This research provides quantitative evidence for architectural shading and window design, supporting a balance between shading efficiency and view quality.
