Abstract:At present, research on visual comfort evaluation in primary and secondary school classrooms in China is insufficient. Some studies have pointed out that using glare indices alone cannot reflect the issue effectively. This study plans to develop an targeted investigation and analysis based on the spacial forms, daylighting methods, and typical characteristics and patterns of students'viewing behaviors in classrooms, aiming to propose an effective visual comfort evaluation model.First,a questionnaire survey will be conducted to identify the main causes of students'visual discomfort.Second, based on the results of the survey,a test room experiment involving subjective evaluation will be designed to determine the most effective indicators and their standard values. Finally,a complete simulation-oriented visual comfort evaluation model for primary and secondary school classrooms will be proposed. The study found that disturbing reflected light within the blackboard area is the primary factor determining visual comfort in classrooms, and bright contrast(C)can effectively reflect the impact of such disturbing light. This study ultimately proposes evaluating visual comfort by analyzing the proportion of the blackboard area where the probability of high contrast(probability of C≥1.3)exceeds 75%.
