Abstract:In the process of urbanization,a large amount of underutilized"lost spaces"have emerged. With the rise of new media, these unique physical spaces are increasingly exposed to the public through online platforms, transforming into"urban spectacles"with the potential to become internet-famous landmarks. These spaces play a fundamental role in driving urban economic development. This article takes the space beneath Chongqing's riverside elevated roads as an case example, approaching it from the perspective of large-scale urban public art installations. It proposes using light art as a catalyst for urban"micro-renewal",transforming these underutilized spaces into nighttime art landmarks and enhancing the vibrancy of urban public spaces after dark.Furthermore,by leveraging Chongqing's broader tourism landscape, the study explores how the linear form of the elevated road space can connect scattered urban attractions, creating a unique nighttime city tour route.Through the viral influence of new media, this strategy aims to boost the local nighttime economy and promote regional development.
