Research on Light Pollution from LED Displays in Chongqing City

Abstract：With the rapid development of technology,the construction of urban landscapes is constantly evolving.LED screens,as an important component of modern cities,are widely used in various fields,from large-scale outdoor advertising displays to screens of indoor electronic devices.The LED screens in many city squares and main streets are also used to beautify the urban environment,create night scenes,and promote the night economy.Some cities attract people's attention by increasing the brightness of LED screens,but they have ignored the light pollution problems caused by excessive brightness and sudden changes in brightness.Chongqing,known for its nightscape,also faces the problem of light pollution caused by LED screens.Research reports indicate that the excessive use of LED screens not only leads to energy waste,but also disrupts people's circadian rhythms and affects their health,causing anxiety.This paper confirms through field investigations and analyses in various commercial districts of Chongqing that high-brightness LED screens have already impacted people's daily lives.The survey results also provide a basis for regulatory authorities to guide businesses in the proper use of LED screens in commercial areas.
