Abstract:Lighting environment is a key factor in the perception of residential environments at night. Its quality not only directly affects residents'living experience but also plays an important role in energy conservation and emission reduction.Reasonable lighting design can enhance residents'sense of security, while effectively reducing energy waste and promoting sustainable development. The International Dark Sky Community plays a key role in light pollution control and ecological conservation. Its lighting design ensures the safety and comfort of residents while protecting the natural night sky, making it an important model for sustainable practices. This paper conducts a nighttime light environment survey in the Xichong Dark Sky Community using a combination of field measurements and subjective evaluations.By examining the correlation between environmental parameters of the measured area and residents'safety perceptions from a regional questionnaire survey,a regression model for community safety was established, and a nighttime light environment safety perception map was created.Based on the existing dark sky communities and the regression model, the recommended ground illuminance range for residential areas meeting safety perception standards is between 4.0 and 17.4 lx.
